Well, we are away on vacation and my internet access has been a bit scattered. I’ve attempted to blog from my iPhone, but that just isn’t cutting it, so I’m grateful to have a few minutes this morning to finish up my post for this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie. It’s been a while again since I participated, but I’ve so looked forward to this week’s pick for the Dark Chocolate Sorbet chosen by darling Steph over at A Whisk and A Spoon, that I just couldn’t miss out.
If my sorbet looks very soft and melty, there is good reason – it has been positively sweltering here in Utah and it was tough to get a good picture without the sorbet turning into a creamy sorbet soup – which, either way was delicious.
I don’t actually have an ice cream maker any more (mine broke a year or so ago) so I simply followed all the steps through the chilling, then let the sorbet chill until it started freezing, scraped it into the bowl of my stand mixer and whipped some air into it with the paddle attachment before freezing the whipped sorbet again and serving. I could have easily just drank this as a soup or some kind of smoothie too and been fine with that though. It is fabulously creamy and chocolatey.
For more fun things to do with sorbet, visit the Tuesdays with Dorie site. I’ll be back later this week hopefully with more posts, but just in case I don’t make it back to internet before vacation is over then I’ll just say ‘see you soon!’
